House rules
Third Life is a small town by invitation. It works because people treat it like a real square: you can be seen, you are among artists and collectors, and what you put up stays up for everyone walking past.
Draft, awaiting the founder's review. The section on adult content is a proposal. These rules are part of the terms of service.
Conduct
- Be respectful. Disagree about art as much as you like; do not attack people.
- No harassment. No following, cornering or repeatedly messaging someone who has not asked for it, no threats, no sharing someone's private information.
- No hate. No content or speech that attacks people for their origin, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability or similar characteristics.
- No scams or phishing. No fake mints, fake airdrops, fake support, “verify your wallet” links, requests for seed phrases or keys, or links that imitate Third Life, objkt, a wallet or another site. Nobody from Third Life will ever ask for your seed phrase.
- No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another artist, collector, project or the host, in your nickname, your gallery sign or your plot.
- No spam. No flooding the chat, mass advertising, or portals and signs that exist only to push links. The chat limits you to about a message a second for a reason.
- Do not break the town. No exploits, no attempts to overload the site or get around its limits, no automated visitors unless the host asked for a test.
Art and rights
- Only exhibit work you have the right to show: your own, work you collected and are showing as a collector, or work whose artist agreed. Credit the artist.
- Owning a token is not owning the copyright. Collecting an NFT usually lets you display it; it does not let you copy the work into your own models or sell copies.
- Token metadata is not proof of authorship. Anyone can mint anything. Third Life shows a token's public metadata as it finds it and does not verify who made it or who holds its rights.
- Models, textures and images you upload must be yours, or licensed for this use (check the licence of any downloaded model).
- Do not reproduce trademarks, logos or other projects' buildings in a way that suggests a connection that does not exist.
Adult and sensitive content (proposed)
- The mainland, the Palazzo and every plot are public places: anyone walking past sees them, including people who did not choose to.
- Proposed: no sexually explicit content and no graphic violence or gore in public areas, whether as an NFT, a model, an image, a sign or chat. Nudity as a subject of art (painting, sculpture, photography) is allowed when it is not explicit.
- Sexual content involving minors, or non-consensual sexual content, is never allowed anywhere, is removed at once and may be reported to the authorities.
- Flashing images, strobe effects and very loud content should be avoided; they can harm people.
Moderation
The host (the island's administrator) can act at once when something breaks these rules or the law:
| Action | Effect |
|---|---|
| Pause chat | Nobody but the host can send messages in that place until it is resumed. |
| Remove a person | Disconnects every tab of that wallet from the room; they can come back after five minutes. |
| Hide a gallery sign | The sign, its name and its links disappear everywhere; saving it again does not bring it back. |
| Hide a gallery world | It disappears from the home page and from public links. |
| Suspend a creator | Ends the wallet's right to build and publish; its published space leaves the map. Visiting may remain open. |
| Take back a plot | Ends the tenure; the published plot leaves the map; its files are kept. |
- Moderation decides what this site shows. It never touches tokens on the chain or what is in your wallet.
- Serious or repeated breaches can end your access and your plot without refund (terms). For illegal content and scams, the host acts first and explains afterwards.
Reporting
- In a published creator space, open Report this space and choose a reason:
- Illegal content
- Someone else’s work, published without permission
- Sexual content involving minors, or non-consensual
- Hateful or harassing
- Impersonating a person or organisation
- Something else
- A report records the space and its version, the reason and your note. It does not record your wallet, your name or your network address, and it is not shown to the creator.
- For anything else (a plot, a sign, a person in chat, a scam link), tell the host directly, with where and when it happened and, if you can, a screenshot.
- The host reviews reports by hand. There is no promised response time yet.
Appeals
If you think a moderation decision about you or your work was wrong, write to the host, say what happened and why it should be reconsidered. The host will look again and answer. Hidden content is normally kept rather than deleted, so most decisions can be reversed.
To be completed by the founder: the contact address for reports and appeals (an email or an account), and a target response time.
